Understanding Plantar Fascia Pain (Plantar Fasciitis)
The plantar fascia is a thick ligament that runs along the bottom of your foot, connecting your heel to your metatarsals (the base of your toes). It helps support your arch and plays a key role in how you walk.
When the plantar fascia becomes irritated or inflamed - a condition known as plantar fasciitis - it can cause pain in the heel or arch, especially first thing in the morning or after sitting for a while.
How Bared Shoes Can Help
Our shoes are designed with features that support the plantar fascia and help relieve strain:
Deep heel cup - holds the heel securely in place and stabilises the foot.
Strong arch support - helps reduce tension along the plantar fascia.
12mm heel pitch - provides gentle elevation, taking pressure off the heel.
Finding the Right Style
While many people find temporary relief wearing heels, this often leads to increased pain once the shoes are removed. The best option is a supportive flat shoe with a secure fastener, such as a lace-up or strap, to keep your foot stable throughout the day.
If you wear custom orthotics, we recommend choosing a style with a removable footbed, so you can insert your orthoses while maintaining the same great support and fit.
