At Bared, we use high-quality, LWG-certified leathers and design every shoe with comfort, durability, and style in mind. But it’s important to keep in mind that leather is a natural material. Like skin, it’s not immune to marks, knocks, or scratches — these can occur with everyday wear or if your shoes come into contact with hard or abrasive surfaces.
When it comes to our heeled styles specifically, the heels are crafted from a lightweight plastic core and then wrapped in a wooden veneer or leather overlay. We made the switch from solid timber to this combination to make our shoes lighter and more comfortable for all-day wear. However, this does mean that if your heel is knocked against something hard, the wooden veneer or leather may chip or lift, revealing the plastic underneath.
